DESCRIPTION

The Allman Brothers Band signed with Capricorn Records in 1969, which brought the band to Macon, GA. In January 1970, Berry Oakley and wife Linda rented a Tudor-style house on Vineville Avenue. Duane and Gregg moved in as well. The house, “The Big House” became the center of the band’s activities during those early years.

Today, the Big House has been restored as an Allman Brothers Band Museum, showcasing guitars and other musical instruments, clothing, photos, posters, gold records, a vast collection of memorabilia and state of the art technology.
Both the Big House Museum and Grounds are available for rental. The Big House provides a unique venue for weddings, receptions, corporate events as well as private parties.
